Introduction:

The Phlebotomy Aide program prepares individuals, under the supervision of healthcare professionals, to draw blood samples from patients using a variety of procedures. Phlebotomy Aide draw blood for tests, transfusions, research, or blood donations. Some explain their work to patients and provide assistance when patients have questions/concerns after their blood is drawn.

Employment of phlebotomists is projected to grow 22% from 2020 to 2030.

Salary:

The average wage for this career in Florida is $16.78 hourly and $34,710 annually.

Completion Requirements:

The entire program is 165 hours. Students can earn a certificate at the completion of the following Occupational Completion Points (OCPs):

Basic Healthcare worker 95 hours

Phlebotomist 75 hours
